This course provides an introductory overview of business and the role that businesses play in economic, social and political environments, and in the world. Functional areas of business that will be discussed: economic systems, forms of business ownership, small business, management, owning a business/entrepreneurship, human relations, marketing, accounting, finance, stock market, and business law.
Marketing Principles | Concentration
This course introduces students to the principles of marketing. Topics include segmentation, business analysis, market research, buyer behavior, distribution, retailing, advertising, selling, and international issues. Students gain an understanding of the marketing mix (product, distribution, promotion, and price) for a defined target market. The course combines problem-solving instruction, hands-on projects , speakers from the community, and case studies.
